Our clients were downsizing from a house into a large penthouse and their only outdoor space was a terrace measuring 6mx5m.
We designed a new garden to include a circular lawn area to help give the space the illusion of being bigger and to have raised planters built to a height for people to perch on whilst in the garden.
It was important that the levels were consistent in the garden and ran seamlessly from the lounge. The lawn and paving were raised to a height to allow uninterrupted access. Weight was a big factor in the build of this project and instructions from a quantity surveryor were adhered to.
Lighting gave the garden a different feel at night. All the planting was chosen to suit the situation and sunny aspect. A horizontal cedar wood screen was erected along the side of the terrace to filter the westerly wind.
The garden had an overall contemporary feel, which reflected our clients interior to their new home.
